Network meeting and presentation of the collection of the Institute for Lightweight Structrures and Conceptual Design (ILEK)

On November 12, 2025, the Collection Network visited the Institute for Lightweight Design and Construction (ILEK). Founded by Frei Otto as the Institute for Lightweight Construction, it houses a collection of specialized literature and documents on lightweight construction, as well as numerous models. Using these resources, the institute continues to explore key questions in lightweight construction technology to the present day—from soap films and steel nets to lightweight concrete and adaptive shells.
