Further construction measures are necessary as part of the temporary operation of the University of Stuttgart Library at the City Center location until the building has been renovated. The Closed Stacks holdings at the City Center location must therefore be moved to an external storage facility. (The holdings affected are marked in the catalog with “Location: Magazin, UB Stadtmitte”).
These holdings will therefore be unavailable during the move from January 10, 2026, until the end of April 2026 and cannot be ordered or borrowed during this period.
If you need access to individual volumes during the relocation phase, the University Library will try to obtain them for you via interlibrary loan. The costs for any interlibrary loans will be covered centrally. If you require an interlibrary loan, please contact fernleihe@ub.uni-stuttgart.de directly by email or ask the staff at the circulation desk. Unfortunately, regular interlibrary loans via the catalog are not possible.
The holdings of the University of Stuttgart Library City Center with the location designations Open Shelves, Reading Room, and Open Stacks can be ordered as usual.
We are making every effort to ensure that the transition to regular lending at the City Center location is as smooth as possible, and we will inform you in good time via the University of Stuttgart Library homepage as soon as the Closed Stacks holdings are available again.
The Vaihingen location of the University of Stuttgart Library and its literature holdings remain fully accessible.
