Through agreements with publishers and memberships, such as in consortia, the costs of your open-access publication are reduced. Depending on the publisher, open-access publication may even be free of charge for you, as the costs are already covered by an agreement funded by the University Library.
The terms and conditions for this change annually. Please therefore refer to the updated overview of memberships and agreements with publishers.
Of particular note is the change that, in addition to journal articles, so-called “conference articles” published by ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) are now also eligible for funding. This change resulted from ACM making all publications available as Open Access as of January 1, 2026. A request for coverage of costs must also be submitted in this case.
Since the agreements and memberships undergo an annual evaluation by the University Library, it is essential that all costs incurred for publishing at the university are known. Please therefore also refer to our information on cost monitoring.
