Collections of the University of Stuttgart

from the model collection of the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning

This architectural model depicts a longitudinal section of the Pantheon in Rome, completed in 125 AD, allowing the interior of the ancient building to be seen. The model was built during the 2006/2007 winter semester at the University of Stuttgart, Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, and was then added to the university's collection of architectural models, which includes two other models of the Pantheon. The model on display shows part of the construction process and was made of wire and wood. In the past, it has also been exhibited at other institutions. It is now in a condition that requires partial restoration.
