Access to Cloud Projects Still Possible
Your data is not lost. Basically, access to your projects will remain intact as both Citavi Web and Citavi Desktop can access cloud projects. Nevertheless, we recommend exporting and backing up your projects early as well as migrating your projects if necessary, in case you want to switch to a different reference management system.
Citavi Web: What To Do?
Citavi Web runs via your web browser. Citavy Desktop, however, requires installation on your computer and starts as a „normal program“. The two versions also differ visually.
You use Citavi Web? In that case you have to take action in the next few days.
If you are a Windows user, you will only use the Citavi Desktop version in the future. Install the Desktop version and keep working with your project in the cloud as usual. You can find more information on the Citavi Desktop version here.
If you don’t use Windows, you will unfortunately have to switch to a different reference management system. A software comparison for reference management is offered by the University Library of the Technical University Munich.
