Blue paper strip of an interlibrary loan order

New: Electronic delivery of interlibrary loan articles

February 29, 2024 / wia / UB

From March 1, 2024, Stuttgart University Library will send articles ordered via interlibrary loan directly to users electronically.

Electronically delivered copies of articles from an interlibrary loan order will be forwarded to the persons who ordered them.

You will receive a notification by e-mail with a download link and then have a time window of 30 days in which you can download your interlibrary loan.

There are the following exceptions to electronic delivery:

- You do not have an e-mail address entered in your library account.

- The delivering library does not participate in the electronic delivery system.

- License agreements prohibit electronic delivery.

In such a case, you will receive hard copies.

The basis for this convenient and sustainable service is a new agreement between the licensing authority and the library networks. In addition to the interlibrary loan fee, this agreement includes the payment of a royalty to the collecting societies.

The royalty costs are covered by the University of Stuttgart Library for you.

The interlibrary loan fee of 1.50 Euro must be paid at the circulation desk as before.
